Is UtsavOne free?
Yes. Every tool – events, functions, bookings, payments, expenses, guests, reminders, analytics and PDF receipts – works on the free plan for you + 2 family members, up to 5 events and 100 MyGuests contacts. Bigger families can buy Family 6 (₹99) or Family 10 (₹149) for one year, and add more members at ₹12 each. Plans never renew automatically, and there are no ads.
Can UtsavOne read my family's data?
No. Your event details are encrypted on your phone before they are uploaded, and the keys stay on your family's devices. Our servers store only unreadable data, so nobody at UtsavOne can see your budgets, vendors, payments, guests or documents.
What is the recovery key and why do I need it?
Because your data is end-to-end encrypted, a personal recovery key is the spare key that unlocks it on a new phone if your old one is lost. Save it somewhere safe – for example in KeyVault Authenticator – because UtsavOne cannot reset it for you.
What happens if I change or lose my phone?
Sign in on the new phone. If your old phone or another family member in the event is still using UtsavOne, the keys are shared automatically. Otherwise, enter your recovery key once and everything unlocks.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Add and edit events, payments and guests offline – changes are kept encrypted on your phone and sync automatically when you are back online.
Can my whole family plan together?
Absolutely. Invite family members with a link, QR code or their email and choose their role – admin, editor or viewer. Everyone sees updates instantly, and the activity log shows who changed what.
Can someone add me to an event without my permission?
No. You first see who invited you and choose Accept or Decline – opening a link never adds you on its own. Invitations sent to your email wait in the app's Invitations inbox, and you can block anyone who keeps inviting you.
Can I hide payment details or some vendors from certain family members?
Yes. As the owner, open Family, tap a member and choose What they can see: bookings & payments, expenses, contributions, guests and documents can each be switched off, and you can limit them to the vendors you pick. Hidden details are never sent to their phone.
What happens when my plan ends?
Nobody is removed. The app reminds you every day from a week before. If your family is above the free limits after the end date, everyone can still view your events, but changes and new invitations are paused until you renew in Settings → Plans & membership.
Can an invited family member buy a plan?
Yes. Anyone can buy a plan in Settings → Plans & membership. It applies to the events they own, so they can plan their own celebrations for family, friends or as an event manager.
Does UtsavOne handle payments to vendors?
No – UtsavOne never touches your money. You can open any UPI app from a booking to pay, then record the payment. UtsavOne keeps the history, totals and receipts.
Are the PDF receipts tax invoices?
No. UtsavOne receipts and statements record payments your family made. A GST tax invoice can only be issued by the vendor.
Which languages are supported?
English and हिन्दी today, with more Indian languages planned.
Is there an iPhone app or a website version?
UtsavOne is available for Android on Google Play today. iPhone and web versions are on our roadmap.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete account in the app. Your account and the events you own are permanently deleted after 7 days.
